Employment Preparation for Immigrants
This series of workshops run by WIL Employment Connections will help you conduct a successful job search. Topics include resume preparation, job search strategies and understanding Canadian business culture. You can take one or all workshops.

This six-step program covers the job search process, from setting goals to accessing the hidden job market. Provided by LUSO Community Services, it is available to Ontario Works recipients.

Internet and Newspapers
Many current job opportunities in London and Middlesex County are listed on job search websites such as Knighthunter.com, Monster.ca and Workopolis.  You can also check the "Classifieds" section of the newspaper for job postings. Going directly to company websites is also a good option.

Six London Public Library branches offer free Internet access, resume help and printing. In Middlesex County, these services are offered at the GAIN Centre and the Dorchester Employment Resource Centre.

Social Networks
A good social network is also one of your best job search tools. Tell friends about your job search and join community organizations to extend your network of personal and professional contacts.

Temporary Employment Agencies & Career Placement Agencies
Temporary employment agencies are businesses who hire people for short-term contract work. They can be a good way to gain Canadian work experience. Career placement agencies are also businesses. Both may charge a fee to help you find a job.
